I was just browsing the Bethesda Game Studios Forums a few minutes ago and came across an interesting topic. This secret was discovered by a member going by the screen name EmperorsDynasty, and posted about a month ago.
It seems that you can make a minimap of the area you're in, complete with dots indicating the player character and non-player characters, by spamming damaging spells into a wall. The poster reports having the game always crash shortly after bringing up the map. The discoverer, EmperorsDynasty recommends using spells with a low cost of magicka, like Fire Dart.
Just goes to show that there is always something new to discover, even in a 13 year old game!
Was this an unfinished feature? A tool used by the developers that was supposed to be removed? An intended cheat, perhaps?
Read the original topic and see screenshots here.
